My Mobo got hit by lightning and the internet went out. When I got inside to check things over I decided to clean things up a bit, you know get the dirt out. I decided to lift the main Processor cooler which I should have taken out while it was little warmer. When I lifted the heat sink it was stuck to the processor because old grease was hardened. When I lifted it, it pulled the processor right out and broke some pins off. Now I needed a processor! This item worked perfectly right out of the box. It was easy to handle and align. Also it was packed very well. It was delivered fast and was reasonably priced. I also had to replace the Mobo but since then the processor has functioned flawlessly. This processor seems to tolerate long hours of usage better than the old one and I work it about 14 hours a day. I totally love it.Read full review
This processor was a great bargain and easy to install. It has given my old computer new life. It was a real kick in the a$$. I've got 2 gigs a RAM coming soon. I should get a couple more years out of this old machine.
Taking into account that the launch of the Athlon XP 3000+ was given a cold reception, the new-comer 3200+ must have had it the same. Especially considering the paragraph below. But do not worry: the second attempt is not that bad, the Athlon XP 3200+ is much better than its predecessor, though there are few changes: the core frequency is jacked up to 2200 MHz (from 2167 MHz, i.e. only by 33MHz), and the bus got 33 MHz more - now it works at 400 MHz (200 MHz DDR). As a result, it looks like the Barton (3000+), only with the core and bus being speedier. However, this is the very quantity-to-quality transition
I think that the processor is a good one, however, I bought it by mistake,(my own). It would not work in the situation that I wanted it for. I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with it, I just misapplied it.
for price, perfomance, and dependability, AMD CPU's are the gold standard in my book. Now if someone will just build a mobo as durable, I would be a happy camper.
