This Heathkit vintage HW-30, also called a Twoer, was advertised for parts only, and that is what it is good for. It is for the 2-meter radio amateur band, and to make this radio used, it requires a crystal, microphone and power cord. All three of these items are essential in order for this radio to be be used and these parts are hard and expensive when found. This radio I will use for parts as advertised.

It’s a vintage old Heathkit. And I love it. In great shape also for being so old. And......it works. Sometimes you take a chance and sometimes it pays off.

Although it was listed "As-is" I expected it would be in a little better condition. The case paint was falling off and junctions inside the case had lost mounting screws.

Highly Modified - Mystery parts added - The T/R (transmitt - receive) switch has been completely removed and is missing and other (NOT MENTIONED) mystery mods have been done. The wiring done is mediocer at best . It is a $10 , set it on the shelf unit at best.Price is WAY WAY WAY out of line !!!

A fun little transceiver that was very popular in its day. The regenerative receiver is extremely sensitive, but admittedly not very selective.
