I had this camera for years but it was getting some debris causing spots on the pictures. I like the picture quality so much that I decided to get the exact same camera to replace it. I found a barely-used one on eBay for a good price and I am happy. I like to use a camera, not my phone, to take pictures when I travel. This model is missing some of the more modern features, like bluetooth, which I don't need anyway.

I didn't expect much from the used camera but it is meeting its functions in good quality picture results. I had this Panasonic ZS3 camera before and this one needed some initial clean up to make the sticky lens barrels move smoothly. It is working fine.

I purchased this camera for my wife, and her main requirements were that it was easy to use but yet took quality photos and had a huge zoom. She also wanted to point and shoot the camera without looking in a manual to figure out how to turn it on. Originally we had been focusing on the ZS1, but this model has a larger LCD screen (3") and records in HD. That's been an added bonus, along with being able to use the 12X zoom while recording video. The camera also has a stability feature to help eliminate blurry photos from a shaky hand. (that would be me) We haven't used it alot, but are very pleased. A suggestion... Be sure to pick up a memory card right away. The internal memory disappears quickly, especially if recording videos in HD and/or having the photo setting on the highest resolution. We live on a farm and have a deer who's "adopted" us, showing off her fawns every spring for the past 3 years. With this camera we can sit on our deck, zoom in, and count the little one's eye lashes and she doesn't even know it. If you're still curious about the camera, drop a note and I'll be glad to show off some examples.Read full review
not much to say. Panasonic makes a great product. There Lumix digital cameras are the best i ever put my hands on. Improved there speed when taking a pic and then taking another pic its ready to go fast. this 12X optical zoom is impressive my dad and brother both have SLR cameras my ZS3 zooms in just the same and my pictures look better. ease of use with ia mode has improved. so i wont even have to hold the camera or press the button. lol Very Smart Camera haven't tried my HD video enough yet to for a good opinion. dual Mic's really cool feature.
I like the most the solid feel of this camera and the zoom range its Leica lens offers. I can go from wide angle for some scenery shots and tight indoor shots to telephoto shots that can still be hand held without the need of a tripod or the bulk of a bridge type camera. For everything in between, this ZS3 can handle beautifully. It is fairly responsive for a digital camera, meaning that I don't have to wait between shots or for things to happen after a button is pushed. I love the resuts : the photos it takes are beautiful so I don't have to erase too many bad shots or retake the same pose. It can take short movies too but this is a feature I don't use often. I decided on this Panasonic model because it answers most of my photographic needs and I chose it over the newer DMC-ZS5 (TZ-8) because it has a sharper, larger viewing screen and a convenient HDMI outlet to connect to my TV. There is no perfect camera, but with it looks, its feel, its capabilities, I consider my Panasonic DMC -Z3 the best all around camera.Read full review
