I did many days of research before buying this phone, reading tens of reviews from several manufacturers. Finally this one got my attention the most, and now after using it for almost a month, I can say confidentally that I made a good choice. My favourite feature is the Wireless Access Point. It was very useful when I was in the village with no internet connection. Through the phone I could have 3G+, and with 3 computers connected at the same time! The screen is really amazing. After using it for a day or two, it seemed so "poor" the screen of the iPod (2ndGen), which itself was the amazing one before that :) Mine came with Bada 1.2 OS, and sometimes when using the Wireless AP function it restarts unexpectedly, but not very often. The call quality is very good, and the ringtone (Vanessa Mae - Contradanza) I can hear on a crowded street even without having the volume at the maximum. The camera makes nice photos outdoor, but indoor you need to have non-shaking hands and non-moving targets, otherwise it becomes blurry. The video quality (HD 720p) is excellent, and the flashlight provides also quite good support in dark environments. The menu and home screen can be arranged either manually, or automatically in adaptive mode, where the most frequently used icons come to the front. The software is really fast and among the factory installed programs you can find the most necessary ones: alarm, timer, stopwatch, memo, calendar, calculator, office suite (read-only), etc. Theoretically it can play HD movies even with subtitles, but this I didn't try yet. Besides the push email function it supports also the synchronization with an Exchange account, which I found very useful, because this way I could easily transfer all the contacts (above 600!) from my old phone without any problem. It has standard 3.5" earphone plug, nicely organized music player, and FM radio. The predictive typing is working very well and until now almost always it "knew" what I wanted to type. Those who want to hotswap the MicroSD frequently will not like that it can be found under the battery, so the phone needs to be switched off for that. The others will not mind about it at all :) As a 2 year old product I could buy it for a fairly cheap price, so I can say that now it has a very good price/value ratio :) If Samsung would consider more the further development of Bada OS, then this phone could easily be an iPhone killer.Read full review
I have used many phones back in the days, but the Samsung Wave was the first touch screen mobile so far. What I like 1. The screen, the brightness and the readability under direct sunlight is unbeatable…not even an iphone 4. 2. Features packed, the Mobile AP is a facility I loved and the speed of the internet through this internet sharing system is fantastic….try and anyone will love it 3. Thin and classy looks, Its obvious iphone 4 is fantastic in design terms…but the cost is more than 5 times compared with the wave…and what you get is an equal set of features packed in a reasonably nice looking phone… 4. Sound Quality, the quality is obviously better than the iphone 4 ; as the iphones processor was developed by Samsung…sound level good and clear as crisp! 5. Easy to use navigation on music player when locked, and thevideo player…divex on the move 6. Camera and HD recording! What I do not like 1. The SW needs a bit of tweaks, not major ones though 2. The camera does not have the option to switch to the front camera 3. Limited memory allocations (onboard) 4. No ambient sensor 5. The t9 needs some modification I recommend this phone to anyone who likes to compete the iphone 4 with this ones features….as the Samsung Wave user will win any challenge!Read full review
Samsung s8500 is probably the best phone for its price. I won't talk about tech specs, they could be read elsewhere. So this is just my impression. This is very stylish phone, metal case, ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING Super AMOLED screen. Sensitiveness of touchwiz display is nice. The app perfomance is amazing. It is running Bada OS, which not too bad, and it probably has better perfomance and no hanging in comparison with Android at approximately the same hardware. 'Bada OS' is a new OS, so apps are appearing day by day. I think, that Samsung appstore politics sifts out normal applications from software junk (like many trashy Android apps). It has quite nice twitter, facebook apps installed. A tip: after buying a used phone (any used phone, not s8500 only) you may need to update firmware (if previous owner didn't do that). For S8500 this operation require basic computer skill, and a computer, Internet and Samsung suite for this phone -- the program -- "Kies", you may ask your friend or husband to help, if this is too geeky for you. So I'm pretty happy with s8500.Read full review

Very pleased with this phone..the screen is great, the phone itself is simple and straightforward to use (once you work it out). The MP3 player is great as is the camera and the video camera. There are not the apps an accessories of an Iphone or an Android but Ive found what I want with no problem and for the money feel it is as good as a phone twice the price
