The shower curtain is advertised as being made of PEVA material but it obviously is not because it emitted the unmistakable stench of PVC as soon as it was opened and it continues to smell as bad days later. PEVA has no noxious odours, which is specifically why I put PEVA in my search and checked before ordering the shower curtain that the item description said 'PEVA', which it did.
