The Queen in Tasmania celebrates all the pomp and excitement of two major royal visits to Australia's Apple Isle. Masterfully filmed by the Tasmanian Government Film Unit, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's first visit in 1954 was barely a year after her coronation, replete with official motorcade, military procession and a colourful performance from thousands of local school children. Joined by Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II explored Australia's second oldest city in Hobart, visiting Government House and the repatriation hospital before venturing North West to take in the many sights and experiences of Devonport and Launceston.
