The Marvel comics hero returns for more high-flying fun in this third instalment in the series. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is up to his usual Spidey tricks, attending university classes as an awkward geek, then quickly slipping into his red-and-blue suit to save New York City from various villains. And there are villains aplenty. Thomas Hayden Church blows in as the Sandman, an escaped convict whose molecular structure is destroyed in a particle accelerator. The freak accident gives him the ability to form and reform from piles of dust. While the Sandman sifts through the city streets robbing banks, Spidey must also contend with his onetime friend, Harry (James Franco), who has taken up where his father, the Green Goblin, left off. Harry chases Spider-Man down on his goblin glider, hurling pumpkin bombs. But Spider-Man's biggest battle is perhaps within himself, when he is taken over by meteorite ooze--a substance that gives him great power, but also turns him into a vengeful, selfish person. Throw into the mix Peter's new competition at the Daily Bugle--the ambitious, sneaky Eddie Brock (Topher Grace)--and Peter's relationship troubles with Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst), and SPIDER-MAN 3 weaves a tangled web indeed.<BR>Director Sam Raimi's playful style and his delightfully campy screenplay hold true to the spirit of the Stan Lee comics, and he does an excellent job of hitting all the right superhero notes. Raimi has created an action film that is a feast for the eyes, but comes with fully rounded characters and a moving moral lesson to boot. The special effects are astounding, but Raimi makes sure the film isn't all action and no talk--he makes Peter's struggle a human one, and one that we can all relate to, regardless of our web-spinning ability.

The third installment of the spiderman film kinda left me with mixed feelings.. It has the usual great visual look of the first two and the story of peter parker and the clash of his personal and super hero life continues this time taking a darker twist.. The downside is I can't help but feel there are two films here rolled into one and neither getting it's full potential. Venom while done great would have been a lot better in his own film with the potential of rooftop chases between Venom and spiderman huge..However throw in the Sandman and the "new goblin" and there is a big mix of ideas that while cool feels a little disjointed.. The dark side of Peter and the whole story of the black suit and venom is well done.. The sandman creation scene is one of the most touching and incredible CGI ... Also some of the spiderman action scenes although amazingly carried out have been taken so far that they are difficult to watch with so much to take in.. All told though i you like the other two you'll love this a great popcorn moment film...

It causes him more trouble than villains and mischief by interfering with his everyday life. And above everything, he has to fight more evil doers, resist temptation and take his revenge. Spider-Man 3 brings a slightly darker face of things to life, making the Peter Parker story more complex. Sam Raimi is a prolific producer, actor, director and writer. Spider-Man 3 is said to be his masterpiece. However, his attraction for the movie industry started out when he was little. Big fan of The Three Stooges, as a teenager he used to make movies with an 8mm camera and the influences of The Stooges’ movies were obvious. Later on, he directed a series of comic horrors and comic book based movies. They had moderate success throughout the 80’s, but definitely increased his filming abilities and skills. After some favorable critic reviews, he finally made it big in 2002 with the first part of the Spiderman series. Ever since, his fame soared. If in the 80’s he had to take his unsuccessful flicks to Europe when they were rejected in the U.S., he has now gained the respect of Americans critics and fans once and for all. Spiderman 3 already finds lead actors Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst as extremely renowned actors. Not among their first movies, but definitely destined to reach a wider public than others, the first Spiderman film opened up the gates of Hollywood for the two. Thus, their freshly-gained popularity made way for other projects, at least as interesting as this one. In any case, things weren’t always like this. Before Spider-Man 3, with its famous actors, director, and millions of related items sold worldwide, there was a young cartoonist. In 1962, Stan Lee brought a new comic book superhero to life. The business had been dominated up to that point by fully-grown, muscle-bound tough guys. The contrast was more than obvious – Peter Parker was nothing but a frustrated teenager who wanted to make things better for himself and for the ones around him, and who, for the first time, actually could do it. It obviously hit a soft spot with millions of teenagers facing the same problems, tired of unrealistic, complex-generating comic book heroes. They wanted someone they could relate to, and Peter Parker was just that; more than 40 years later, Spiderman 3 is a legend.
