This video camera granted isnt the best out there, but it is a great all around good product. It might not have a stunning image but its still very decent for the price you pay for it. Additionally its wireless!! I might be placing them outdoors and stick them in some kind of camera casing. These are great because it comes with excellent software to record and manage all the cameras that you buy of this kind. So I buy only this kind. You can also set this for motion recording via the software remote viewer. Its a network camera so you can view it all around the world granted you know how to configure it. So just plug it in your network. Overall this is a great product for its price.
I bought this camera because I want to monitor my baby activities at home, especially my baby is staying with nany and granny during work day. There are standard rules I set, which I expect they will comply to keep my baby safe and healthy. I was doing a lot of research and it was hard to find a web camera that is movable from location to another. I tried two usb web camera, they work ok, but only work by my computer and the cyberlink youcam is great. But for not being able to change location of the camera or lying along cable around the house, it is not a good solution. This camera is perfect moving from place to place without cabling. That's why I love it. I used this camera with Linksys Wireless Router WRT120n. It was the first time for me to set up wireless router and this wireless camera by myself. The setup is complicated for a non-skillful person to do by himself. The first setup may be easy when the camera is within the range. But when it is out of range or power off, this is the time that make me frustrated at first. But after playing around with the setup and configuration and resetting function, I am able to manage it without further problem. I know where the problem lies. This is a refurbished product, but it works great for me. The camera comes with an excellent monitoring and record software (Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera Utility), which I can install more than one cameras. The video quality is reasonable, but not very good enough. If there would be a newer improved version (improve in video quality and installation) i would definitely buy it. I am planing to buy a few to put around the house. I am thinking of also changing my wireless router to a newer version of WRT in order to get a long range of network connection. I have not tried the function to view it from internet. I'm still doing research on that. Hope this give some tips for new users. Feel free to write me if you have any questions. Thanks alot. Follow the installation directions carefully, know how to create port forwarding and DMZ services with your router, and install the included camera viewer on disk. Record the IP address that the camera has been assigned, you will need it when you are searching for the wireless camera mode. Set up the internet camera with your ethernet cable first, then install the camera viewer so you can find the camera in wireless mode for both LAN and INTERNET tabs. Then set up your DDNS Sololink account, assign passwords to your camera setup, camera viewer access and Sololink account. Find out who are with your children when you are not at home from any internet terminal. Stick with it if you don't get it to work the first time. Once you get it to work, you will not be disappointed.
This is a review on the product WVC54GC; not a review of the seller I have numerous Linksys camera's in my home monitoring systems and am very familiar with setting them up. When I saw this ebay Item I jumped on it for such a low price in order to increase my no. of cameras (total 14) in my house. Unfortunately, I did not research this particular model to discover that this was the very early model of the Linksys camera line. I had great difficulty trying to get it set up (even though very familiar with the process). After some research, I discovered there were many reviews regarding the poor performance of this particular device. Obviously, Linksys cleaned up their act after this model. I threw the camera in the trash. I do not fault the seller. It was delivered as promised in a very professional manner.Read full review

Setup of camera was relatively easy. The recording software that came with it was cumbersome and flaky. It would often lock up when trying to playback recordings. If you need reliable recording and playback, this is not the camera you want. Real time viewing via local lan was reliable for the most part. I was also able to set it up so I can view it through the internet while I was away from home.
I'll agree with the low light situation is not the best for these cameras, but if someone had a problem using it on Vista, they should have contacted their computer's manufacturer, or Cisco, since it works just fine on home premium or basic on 3 different computers I installed and run it on. Works fine on XP Home 32 and XP Pro 32 as well. In short, you should call a technician if you have a problem, that's what we get paid for! (And no I don't work for Cisco.)

If u can get it at a cheap price is a very small camera that let you do the basic . Very easy to install and you can use it wielees or cionnecte it to a network. Easy steps to follow to instalt the software. Great deal if you can purche this camera
Camera works very will on Wifi/G network, unfortunately I bought it for my baby's room to look at her at night and it does the job poorly, actually not at all. I thought that I had researched to camera thourghly but did not research the specs for night vision. My own fault.
is a very expensive camera and bad resolution, the cost is very high, and the included software is very limited and ugly...
