Refillable Quality
Copic's original set of multiliners was my first and favourite for a long time. These are a huge improvement over those, and are therefore my new favourite. Being able to replace the cartridges and nibs gives these pens an advantage over Microns or PITT pen sets. I also have experienced much smoother ink flow with these than with either my Microns or PITT pens. The variety of sizes is great. The improved ink formula that makes it waterproof and Copic-proof is exactly as advertised. I also experience less fade after inking, when erasing my pencil sketches. The pens' metal bodies make them feel nice, sturdy, and long lasting. I find them comfortable. Overall, I'd say these are worth the initial cost of buying them. When I took the markers from their package I immediately tried them. They were an absolute pleasure to hold and draw with. The pen bodies feel solid and comfortable, and the ink is black black and dries very quickly. I like the ink and nibs better than the other brands I have, for the darkness and smooth application. Also, the ink is quite impervious to other media, particularly to waterbased types, but it will smear if you go over the lines many times with alcohol or solvent markers. However, you can apply many layers without smearing as long as you let each layer dry before applying another, and for blending just stay away from the lines. My last comment, but not nearly the least important, is that these are refillable and the nibs replaceable, at not a significant cost. Although ...
