First Blood II - Rambo (DVD, 2006)
Another good action flick. It is now 1985 and Rambo is cooling his heals in prison. Col. Troutman comes to rescue him one more time, this time to go back to Vietnam and look for MIA's being held as POW's. The plan is hinky from the start, when his drop into country gets hung-up and he is dragged miles off course. However, being "Super Man's stronger and smarted brother", he still finds his contact person and begins his mission. Right away, they come upon what is supposed to be a camp. It looks like a bunch of mud and thatch huts with no other purpose than to house five or six American POW's. The men are shown dirty, and brutalized, covered with mud and infested by rats. Come on. . .Maybe in 1974-75, but not 10-12 years later. Nobody could survive that kind ... Another good action flick. It is now 1985 and Rambo is cooling his heals in prison. Col. He breaks one guy out, and then all of a sudden, there are dozens of Russians everywhere. Rambo gets caught and tortured but escapes. After all, he is Rambo! He kills about thirty or forty with every kind of weapon conceivable. From a quiver of arrows over his shoulder, and armed with a compound bow (which even though he is captured and escapes several times, gets into hand-to-hand fights, swims in rivers, dodges explosives etc.) he seems to never lose. He has arrows with explosive tips that detonate like a pound of C4. He must shoot at least 100 or more arrows, and 20 or so with explosive tips, but the quiver never gets empty. Then he picks up an M-60 (7.62mm Nato)machine gun and shoots constantly for minutes at a time. This weapon fires 650 rounds /min., and never runs out of ammo. BULL! This king of stuff makes these movies only seem realistic to women and total idiots. It is fun to see the little guys get it, and even the Russians, but the sequences just aren't believable.
