    It's a good all-in one lens,and good value.lt looks well made,with a metal lens mount,and focuses fine. Unfortunately,I was a bit hasty,and bought the earlier version, without vibration reduction (VR),which is important at the longer end of the zoom,so I may have to sell it,in order to get the later version! It goes well with my Nikon D80,and D3100 camera bodies,and is certainly lighter than the two kit lenses it replaces,so still a good buy.

    Beyond Expectations!

    I'm completely blown away with the performance of this lens! This is a 'One Lens Solution'. It's going to be perfect for my up-and-coming holiday. I won't need to carry several lenses, adding weight to my camera bag. It's not light-weight, but it's not too heavy either. The image-quality is as good as it gets at this price - or perhaps I've underestimated this lens. Perhaps it's better than that! I've certainly no complaints whatsoever. The macro performance is adequate - not true (1:1) macro, but nothing a macro-reversing ring won't fix. I've seen and read countless reviews, and I can only agree with them all. A brilliant lens at a great price. If you're looking for a 'One Lens Solution', then don't overlook this lens. And it comes complete with a lens hood. What more could you ...

    Excellent walk around lens.

    This lens is one of the best I have ever owed. Images are sharp. The lens focus very quick the only fault I can mention if I want to be picky is the the focus ring is to small , but I was used to sigma lens but after using this , I will certainly buy more Tamron lens.
