VERY THIN TUBING AND SHORTER THAN STANDARD STANDS..

I purchased these "IGNITE" speaker stands at a GREAT price (32.99) on ebay. When I received them and opened the box I was not disappointed, but I was taken back that they were made from such thin material were HALF the weight and were about a foot shorter than my "On Stage Stands". SO, I brought them to my gig and I mounted my powered 12" Mackie Thump speakers on them. My speakers weigh Approx. 27 lbs (I believe) they're pretty light for powered speakers. I noticed if I didn't "open" the stands AT LEAST 50% of the way, the stands were wobbly and it made me nervous considering I have a pretty wild crowd at my DJ shows, (limited space and people bump into my stuff from time to time while dancing). They open pretty easy, have a pressure plate in front of the screw so I think it holds the ...

  • Top critical review

Unbeatable Price, but you get what you pay for!

The product isn't built with the best of materials and a couple of the plastic parts were damaged in an arriving in an undamaged box! They are good for semi permanent installs but don't travel well enough to be used on a daily portable gig. Unbeatable for the price (if that's the only criteria of measurement).Treat with kid gloves and they will last. Over zealous interns will break them by over tightening! I paid a little more but got better quality On-Stage brand stands, paid a lot more money and got Ultimate Support brand Stands (and can say that you get what you pay for).

  • Surprisingly good

I play in a very busy "local" band. Every piece of our equipment is a necessary tool that helps us perform to the best of our abilities and capabilities. Think a speaker stand is trivial? Set your mains down on top of your subwoofers, and get ready to hear the complaints from everyone behind the front row of fans. Our old stands had plastic clamps. While they sufficed, they weren't very sturdy. After a few months, the bracket at the top of the legs cracked. While they still worked (after a few zip ties and gaffers tape), they were a bit wobbly. Not a good thing around drunk people that are feeling frisky. I started looking for new ones, and these caught my eye. There was a lot of good stuff that helped me settle on these. But one thing worried me. The height. The only mention of the ...

  • Perfect for light to medium use

Got these and I am happy with them. They're not pro grade stands, but will most likely endure longer that the cheaper versions that are out there. The metal components are well made, and although there are still plastic parts, I expect these to last a long time for our use. These get set up once a month, possibly a couple of times later on, and so are minimally used. I like them! Great for a small club setting or a lecture type room for occasional use. Sturdy.

  • Great value

Not the sturdiest or best constructed but for the price if you're not going to be touring with it but use it in your home studio or local gigs or on a tight budget. I use mine with the Powerwerks PW 50 PA units which are also a good value for a small band. With free shipping, I think it's one of the best Audio/PA tripod values out there.
