The intended purpose of buying the monocular, was simply to view ships while having lunch at the coast. And to be honest, we have not yet reached the coast for lunch. However, the monocular is in the car, we have already had a look around the neighbourhood and the magnification and clarity appears to be suited to what we have in mind, thank you.

The binoculars arrived within a week of ordering it. It's fairly well built but the supplied tripod is very cheap. You definitely need a decent tripod for it. The magnification is amazing but lacks clarity when used with a smartphone. It's OK as an accessory to a smartphone but as a hobby photographer, I wouldn't recommend it.
