This album is very unique. Paul Pena's music is so richly steeped in the sentiment of his generation that it manages to accomplish many great things without any obvious effort. This album has moments that remind me of Richie Havens And others that seam like hendrix. I found it interesting to hear the original Jet Airliner. The over played Steve Miller version is so different in style that it barley effects your enjoyment of the original. Paul's original has much more emotional depth. Steve Miller's version is more along the catchy feel good hit sort of vien where as Paul's seems more like an honest glimse into the life of a real person.
I stumbled upon this disc fumbling through record reviews on Amazon. It's a must for any classic rock fan. The soul of this album and the guitar will blaze through your body and tingle your toes. Pena wrote the song Jet-Airliner which was recorded by Steve Miller. (it kept his lights on for years) This album was written and recorded in the early 70's, but did not get released until 2000. Pena was also blind. This could have contributed to his never finding commercial success. Just so you know where I am coming from - - Jimi is God - - Stevie Ray is Jesus and Neil, Bob and Jerry are the disciples!
Had this album some years back. It sounds even better today.

What a true forgotten gem...so much musicality and soul...and it sounds awesome for a more than 40 years old original recording...total pleasure :-)
It's simple, Roots and Heart. What an amazing story and an ending that is the tragedy of life. Bad things happen to good people.
This CD is Great from the beginning to end. Jet Airliner WoW! I wish Steve Miller wouldn't have ruin it.
