    Lacks a couple of features . . .

I have not set this up with my computer yet. (The disk came broken, but I couldn't use it anyway.) So far, I have just printed documents in B + W. My daughter has run a few color photos on copy paper. They look like copy paper prints. They are what they are. I did discover that it prints only one copy at a time. If you want several, you have to print each one individually. I do not find that a problem for the little amount of home copying that I do. I do like that you can select to copy in Black or in Color. And I like the rear paper feed tray. That really is my preference. I'd say it only holds about 20 pages. A second feature that it seems to lack is: it cannot enlarge or reduce copy. Frankly, that is a bit of disappointment. I often like to tweak the size a bit. However, it is not a big issue. I actually like it so well I have bought 2 more of the same printer for $39 each at a local big box store. Am still on original ink cartridges, which came with the printer. This is not for a busy office, but makes a fine machine for light use at home.

    Good, not great

I got this to replace my Canon MP 210. I really liked that printer but it started to smudge really bad when the "Ink Absorber" was close to being "FULL". Then it stopped working once the absorber got full. Anyway, being I liked my other Canon, I thought I'd get another and the MG 2522 was VERY inexpensive and plentiful. Other than all the ink cartridges being pulled from the once sealed boxes, it was absolutely new. It was quick and easy to set-up and prints fine. The only things I don't like about it are that it's about 2-3 times louder than my MP 210, it doesn't have an angled print tray for the printed sheets, the power shuts off after a period of time and I'm pretty sure I can't print envelopes with it. I'll have to read up on it or try one sometime. I've only had it for a week or two and have only printed a dozen sheets. But other than that, it prints 81/2 x 11 sheets just great.

  • An excellent, low profile printer. EASY setup and speedy printing!

I am the kind of person who does not enjoy equipment setup, cabling, technical manuals, etc. I was daunted when faced with setting up my new PIXMA MG 2500, but had to do it for a variety of documents production in my home office. In addition, I have a Linux/Ubuntu O.S. - and was unsure how smoothly the driver install would go, though I'd read reviews saying it would go well. I I plugged in the printer to the electric socket, and I connected the plugged in printer USB cable to my laptop, in preparation for searching for the driver online to install - when lo and behold it automatically installed the driver and the printer was ready to go in under a minute. The online manual is extensive and easy to navigate. I tremulously installed the printer cartridges and learned where to put the paper - and then started printing things! The initial alignment printing was slow as they all are - but I was delighted to see that all other things print speedily. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a relaxing printer installation!

  • No sure I'd have bought this if I had known then what I know now

The pros are it is cheap and it prints well. The quality of the photo scans was good. It's fairly easy to set up if none of the lights start blinking. The cons are as follows: It's noisy. According to the instructions it was supposed to come with a set-up CD for the software, but it doesn't so you have to find the installation software online and download it. It doesn't come with a usb cord to connect the printer to your computer. That's a separate cost. It has a system of blinking lights to indicate problems with the ink, paper, etc. There are at least a dozen different light patterns and that can be confusing because you have to count how many times a light blinks (and which combination of 4 lights are blinking) and then look it up in the manual. I bought this to also scan and I have a large photo scanning project ahead. The scanning software doesn't allow you to name your image after you scan it. Therefore, you have to go back to the folder where you scanned it to and name it. Not efficient. I have a particular unresolved problem in that mine is not recognizing the ink cartridges (but they are new and full) and the ink alarm lights keep blinking. It will print in B/W but the color only prints in blue. All in all rather a disappointment. I have a better one, an HP inkjet, that is intuitive, easier to use, better built, and quieter, but it is no longer compatible with Windows 10.

  • Good value

So far looks to be much better than HP units I've had. Wish they would give you full cartridges, but at least Canon tells you they are shorting you (use different numbers) Replacement cartridges cost more than entire unit, but that's the nature of the game. I was in the printing industry and know what ink costs...pennies at most, so paying $30 for 3 cents worth of ink tells me what the industry cartel is like. Good printer for now, too bad corporation(s) have to do this to us.

  • Lightweight and great features. True

Easy to use and fast. Needed a print cartridge after a short period, but is still printing while I wait for print cartridge to come in. It is loud when it starts printing, but as long as it does not affect the printing this is not a problem. Have had no paper jams. Holds sufficient paper and starts right up when you add paper without having to hit buttons. It is a bargain and I have no problem with the performance.

  • Nice printer if you need a hard wired unit.

I like the printer however the black ink light is on and if it really is low that means I didn't a lot of pages out of it. I went on-line to look for replacement cartridges and an XL version is available at $25.00 per cartridge. That's approx.1/2 the price I paid for the printer. I'll look for less expensive alternative cartridges as time allows. Wish me luck. :-)

  • Love my Canon, good for USB connection

I do not have wifi so this is a perfect replacement of the same model. The only downside is the ink cartridge is hard to get out - one needs small hands or a pliers to grab it. Otherwise, it prints well, scans easily and is small enough to sit on a shelf by my computer. Can't beat the price. I love this printer

  • Good to use when high quality photos are not super critical. Shop for bargain inks.

A very good product for the price, but print quality not that great, and ink cartridges very expensive.
