Prince proves that he still REIGNS!
Prince. Just the very mention of his name brings tomind some of the best music ever made fromthe past 30+ years. This album, Sign O the Times takes me back to high school days in the late 1980's. Not only did Prince give us one the best albums of his career, he took a film crew with him and filmed footage from several venues his Sign O the Times concerts. Warnr Bros. turned it all into an awesome concert film and released it in theaters so that those of us that were not able to see him in a live concert, could experience the undeniable GENIUS of this artist. This album is just as fresh today as it was then and is loaded with tracks that have more than withstood time. Who doesn't remember- U Got The Look, Housequake,Starfish and Coffee, If I Was UR Girlfriend and Adore to name a few? Oh yes ... Prince. Cassette Version Better Than CD SOTT!
Little known fact - The cassette tapes made in the 80's were made from different manufacturing masters from the master tapes. CD mastering technology at the time is not what it is today - thus the tape versions of Prince's Warner Brother era albums are superior in overall sound, fidelity, dynamics than the CD versions. I remember SOTT and Lovesexy sounding amazing to me back in the day and still does. I recommend finding a higher end tape deck on eBay such as those made by Sony ES lines, Nakamichi, Tascam's and so on.
