Awesome speakers!
Out of all speakers, these ones had the best ratings and reviews so I decided to go with them. I'm so happy I did honestly because they sound really good. There's a ton more bass and mids then my stock speakers, as well as crispy highs. They sound crisp, clear and make what ever you're listening to sound better. Installing them on my car was easy (you just need the proper tools to do it; screw drivers, wire strippers, shrink tubing, drill with drill bits, etc.). If you're doing it yourself, taking the door panels off and have manual window cranks, I found a neat trick to remove the pin. Use a little towel and slide it between the crank and panel where the pin's located, pull down and move it in a sawing motion until the clip pops out. It can take a few tries but it worked easily for ... Out of all speakers, these ones had the best ratings and reviews so I decided to go with them. Excellent Speakers!
Great speakers! I have been using Infinity speakers for a long time and they sounded great. I read some reviews for the 160s and 170s and everyone said they sounded great. I looked at the design of the pioneers and was impressed. I already have Pioneer Champion 10" subs. So I bought them. I put them in the front doors of my 2012 Chevy Sonic Sedan. I also put the 170s in the rear doors. I used the factory radio and used an Audio Control LC6i and an Infinity Kappa 5 amp. All I could say was WOW! These speakers really Kick Butt! I tuned the system and everyone who hears the system is amazed! These speakers reproduce almost all the octaves except the low bass, but that's what the subs are for! Well constructed, great sound at a great price.
I have these mounted in the rear doors of my Suzuki SX4. They fit in the factory cut out and I had to drill only one hole. I'm running 50watts RMS through them from an Alpine MRP-300. They sound great, with punchy mid bass and play loud. They compliment the Polk 6501MM components I have in the front very well. Great speakers at a great price. Pioneer should make this in a 3-way version which would smooth them out a bit.I have these mounted in the rear doors of my Suzuki SX4.
