    Great for TimeMachine backup - simply attach a HSF+ USB HDD and go

    When it comes to Storing Apple TimeMachine backups on a NAS you need this. Works great and out of the box including access management. Will never understand why Apple stopped making these devices. Please note that I am not using this as a router. I use it as a network-attached device plugging in either a USB only printer (works great with USB label printers too) or a USB hard drive for NAS. It's so hard to find a router or another type of a device like it that supports HFS+ (with MBR) formatted drives.

  • From Turtle to Rabbit

    I upgraded my 2008 Linksys Router which could not take the firmware upgrades and had a limited WiFi range to this Airport Extreme as the Sixth generation was a bit out, well a lot, of my price range. I have seen an increase in speeds for my WiFi device. Before I got about 12mbs download (I have a 45mb download package) on WiFi and now I get 33-38 mbs with the router in my bedroom and the test done in my living room.

    Apple AirPort A1354 base stations create a strong and stable WiFi network. The 802.11n protocol is not the latest, but still meets the needs of many people. The biggest weakness is that eventually the manufacturer will stop providing security updates, as would virtually any manufacturer. Which shall Apple discontinue first: security updates or compatibility for the AirPort Utility app?

    What can I say...I'm an Apple fan! I have windows machines as well, but a Mac is a Mac! And this router is made with the same quality and finesse as all Apple products! Plug and play! Setup was extremely easy as always. Performance is spectacular! I also bought an Airport Express as "reinforcement" for another room so my new Smart TV would not suffer from wireless performance issues being in a separate room. Guess what? I haven't even opened the Airport Express box yet!!! The Airport Extreme is powerful enough to transmitt perfectly to other rooms, through walls withou any issues. Highly recommended.
