Mesmerizing and immersive kids book.
I grew up with this book and bought a 2nd copy for my son. Lots of surprises and flaps. My son loves sticking the squirrel through the slot and I make up funny voices for all the different characters. TIP: If you're lucky enough to find a well preserved copy, reinforce the slot edges with 3M "book tape". Kids tend to rip the slots easily. My wife and I enjoy it almost as much as he does.

Missing the most important component of the book
When I was a little girl, I owned the other book by this author about a mouse in the house and it had a little mouse that went with the book and you slip the mouse through the pages. Thirty-something years later, we still have the mouse and my now 6 year old daughter loves to play with the mouse book. I bought this squirrel book thinking it would have the mouse and it arrived with the book and no squirrel. I made a squirrel for my daughter but it was unsatisfactory. Just disappointed. The book is in mint condition otherwise.

Great fun book
Great price. Missing the squirrel but we used our mouse from another book (mouse about the house) by same author. We will make a squirrel from the pattern on the book. Wish the listing had said it was missing though

Missing main character
The book is in great condition, thankfully!! But unfortunately, it is missing the main character, the squirrel. I wouldn’t have purchased this book if I had known it was missing the squirrel that is supposed to slip through all of the slots in the book, the interactive portion of this book is what makes it so special.
