About this product

Product Information

Crush3D is an enhanced port of Sega's unusual adventure-puzzle PSP game, with extra features and challenges that make use of Nintendo 3DS' stereoscopic three-dimensional display. As in the original Crush, the 3DS game's story follows the solipsistic adventures of Danny, an unfortunate young man trapped in the shifting constructs of his own subconscious. He is on a quest to recover his lost marbles, hidden throughout the game's levels. His path is often impeded by mental blocks, which manifest physically in the game world.

Levels begin as traditional 3D platform puzzles, each with obstacles that cannot be traversed in a traditional, three-dimensional environment. Instead, Danny must "crush" the 3D scenes into 2D mode. When, from the proper viewpoint, the 3D scenes are converted to the 2D perspective, un-climbable obstacles and un-leap-able gaps become compacted and passable. Figuring out where and when to switch between 3D and 2D modes is the key to solving the game's puzzles.

Building on this concept, as introduced in the PSP original, the 3DS edition allows players to actually see into each scene, in full stereoscopic 3D, and to tilt the handheld, in order to look around objects and platforms for a better perspective on each puzzle. Nintendo 3DS players can also leave in-game gifts for other Crush3D players, which are traded through the system's StreetPass feature.

  • My favourite puzzle game so far !

I am a senior (71yrs) who doesn’t like hack-and-slash, cartoony games or zombie/apocalypse stuff. I do like puzzlers that make me use my grey matter instead of just reactionary button-smashing. I love this game - it makes me think. I like the need to be able to visualize the difference between 2D and 3D

  • 👍

Great game so much fun very challenging and unique puzzle game it really makes me think some levels have had me stumped for a while but it is great and feels very rewarding when u finally figure it out! It is a new spin on a puzzle game and it is cool to do something different for a change!
