Betty Crocker Cookbook is the BEST
I had an earlier version of this cookbook years ago when I was a young housewife. I lost that copy back in the mid 1980's. I have since used many others but none are as comprehensive and easy to follow as this one. I took a copy out on loan from the library and as soon as I remembered how awesome it is, I ordered myself a copy and also a copy for my young niece, who is just starting to find her own way in the kitchen. She had been using a copy of the "Joy of Cooking" that was a gift from her mother but as soon as she opened up this book, she was hooked. I had given it to her on Christmas Eve and when I saw her the next day for Christmas dinner, she had told me that she stayed up half the night reading it! Aside from all the great recipes, there are many reference charts for ... I had an earlier version of this cookbook years ago when I was a young housewife. I lost that copy back in the mid 1980's. I definitely recommend this cook book to anyone...kitchen novices and experienced cooks, alike.

Betty Crocker Cookbook (2006)
I really enjoy all the new instructional features. I've had a "Big Red" in my kitchen all my life. My Mom had a copy given to her in 60's so one of my first if not very first cookbook I got was my very own "Big Red". I've always described as my kitchen bible. I finally after almost 20 yrs replaced it but I'm having a hard time parting with the old one.

I love this cookbook. It doesn't have all of the most basic techniques, so it may not be the best first cookbook for a novice cook, but it has lots of good recipes in many catagories for most of us. Many of the recipes are easy and quick, and yet are interesting, upto date, versions for everyday cooking or for entertaining. Lots of general info on food and cooking too. Many color photos and charts.I love this cookbook. Betty Crocker Cookbook
I really love this cookbook. It has lots of pictures. It explains the cooking process really well. The recipies are delicious. The book lays flat on the counter and doesn't close up on you and make you lose your page. It also contains some really neat holiday food ideas!

Great Cookbook
This was a gift for my 22 year old son who has just got his first apt. He absolutely loves it. He likes to cook but is not very experienced and this has been a big help to him and the food is food you like to eat.
