1941 50C Walking Liberty Half Dollar

About this product

Product Information

David Hall

Starting in 1941 mintages for all Walking Liberty half dollars, especially the Philadelphia Mint issues, increase dramatically. As you might expect, survival rates increase because of this and also the fact the more coins were saved as the country came out of the Great Depression and a coin collecting boom began. The 1941 Philadelphia is one of the most common Walking Liberty half dollars in uncirculated and Gem condition. It is a little bit scarcer than the 1942 and 1943 but all three issues are "type" issues that do not sell for a premium price in any grade. The typical 1941 is very sharply struck. Luster can be white and frosty and toning runs from light golden iridescent to dark and dingy with everything in-between.

  • The Walking Liberty Is A Good Bullion Coin As Well As A Beautiful Design

Some 90% coins are a little iffy as bullion or barter coins because not everybody can tell the difference between the ones that are full of silver and the ones that are less than half silver. That kind of coin includes the Roosevelt dime, the Franklin half, the Washington quarter and others. This coin doesn't have that problem because they were only minted in 90%. It's also a very beautiful, classic design; so it usually carries some value above spot, even in the lower grades.

  • Great Coin and Great Investment

You can't go wrong purchasing a PCGS graded coin. This 1941MS66 Walking Liberty Half Dollar is a great investment and the model for today's 1oz American Silver Eagle. With the price of silver and stocks falling, it makes sense to diversify your portfolio by adding graded silver coins, in addition to the other financial instruments you may already have. If you have a long term horizon, this coin should only increase in value. If you never sell it, it will look beautiful in your collection. I highly recommend you purchase PCGS or other grading company coins and the 1941 MS66 Walking Liberty is a good place to start.

  • Amazing craftsmanship

It's amazing how awesome these rings turn out. I have 3 and they are all Beautiful. It's obvious there is alot of thought how these rings are made and the thought that goes into each one and what part of the coin shows and that's the best part it was a coin. When waring it your waring a peice of history. I absolutely love mine

  • 1941 Liberty Waling Half Dollar.

This coin was under rated by by the rating company. The features on the hand are highly visible unlike many MS 65 MS 66 conis that have sold at a high price. The feathers on the eagle are highly visible unlike other coins that are rated MS 66. This is by far the best coin in my collection.

  • Walking Liberty Design

Considered by many numismatic experts as one of the most beautiful American coins ever designed. So impactful and beloved was this design that it was re-used for the first American Silver Eagle Dollars that were first minted in 1986. This 1941 silver half dollar is an excellent example of an AU specimen.
