Motivation included
I am on my second Striiv Smart pedometer, having lost the first one after about 18 months. I like that it keeps track of stairs and steps. It distinguishes between walking and running but I am not a runner so I don't pay attention to that. The motivating factor is that you earn points with activity and when you earn a certain amount you can make a donation of a day's clean water, a polio immunization, or rain forest footage when you sync with your computer. There are challenges to get you to earn more points faster, and you can challenge someone else with a Striiv. That all has me taking the stairs at work, walking at lunch, going up and down the stairs between clients, and generally moving more. It is very simple to set up and is fairly accurate. Very likely defective
If you manage to get a good one they are worth it but getting a good one is a struggle. I ordered 2, one was fine and the other was bad. Got another one sent out to replace the bad one, it was bad as well, got a third one sent out, it was also defective before I finally gave up. The circuit board and screen are fine but the batteries swell up and ruin the device after first charge on all 3 defective ones I got.If you manage to get a good one they are worth it but getting a good one is a struggle.
