I saw Dogville Comedies for the first time on Turner Classic Movies and I just had to have it. There's some controversy about the episode set in a jungle, featuring dogs wearing Afro wigs and using black American dialects. I'm black and found it twofold funny. One, this short was filmed in the 1930's, more than thirty years before the wearing of Afro hairstyles. Two, English-speaking Africans have accents and use proper grammar. Nevertheless, Dogville Comedies will have viewers "howling" with laughter, no "bones" about it!

Saw this short movie on TCM movie channel and wanted a copy for my home. Despite this film was made in early 1920's, it was well made and very entertaining.

A must for dog lovers! This was done decades before Wishbone and all the talking animal movies and tv commercials. The 1930's female voices are a bit annoying but goes with the movies at the time. Lots of laughs, my dogs give it two paws up.
