    The gang’s all here as Genesis hit their stride

    Early Genesis isn’t to everyone’s taste, but for those who love it, this is a milestone album. The first to feature Phil Collins on drums, backing vocals, and, on one song, lead vocals, it’s a glimpse onto the future. Steve Hackett also makes his debut, to complete the classic line-up. Drama, classical references and quirky humour are all key elements here. For some, this might be their gateway into the glories of this Gabriel-era, for others it might prove a bit too gamey. To each their own.
