I love mine, does exactly what you would think. Wish it was $10 cheaper...

These things are great; I used it on my Peavey 6505/5150 2x12 combo amp. IT also fits my Peavey 4x12 Straight Cabinet, and my Line6 4x12 slant cab. Any standard size 4x12 it should fit, as well as most 2x12 combos. It mics the bottom speakers, but I guess you could mount it on top and mic the top speakers. IMPORTANT: It is thin enough that it will fit in the gap between 2 stacked cabinets. I actually have my 2x12 Peavey combo sitting on top of a straight 4x12 cabinet, and it fits perfectly. The threads fit a standard mic clip, I used a SHURE copy plastic clip and it fits fine. There is a locking nut so you can angle the clip and lock it firm once you have it in position. The grabber part is on a spring, it does not lock down (or I did not try, it might), but the spring tension is ...

  • Top critical review

    Mixed review.

Mixed feelings. Love the idea and easy of the mic holder, but if not placed right, The mic (SM57) tends to move due to not enough clamping force to keep the Grabber in place. But, I have used it and with a little gaffer tape no issues.

  • Best Semi-Professional way to hang a temporary mic on an Amp.

We have used several types of cab mount mic stands doing professional, rapid paced PA work for all types of bands in all types of environments. This mount will do the job without much complaint. It'll fit almost any combo amp/speaker cab without much trouble and will stay put during the gig for the most part, unless the band is playing at professional metal band levels. Those levels tend to rattle off any non-permanent mount eventually. Otherwise, for lighter to medium duty use, it'll do just fine. NOTE: Don't slam them around to much in between gigs and during transport because they just won't stand up to pro roadie use.

  • Does not come with the mic holder

Its a good product except it doesn't come with the mic holder as shown on picture. You have to purchase that separately.

  • Grab the grabber!

Super easy to set up, a breeze to get mic placement exactly where I need it and stores away in the back of my combo amp. A wonderful product!
