Craftsman replacement blades were as advertised and shipped in a padded envelope. Shipping cost was a bit on the high side.

    Only good for certain situations

I would say that this is a Thread Chaser Set, not a Tap and Die Set. Why? The Taps and Dies are designed to correct cross threaded fasteners and holes, not for cutting/creating new threads. However, I work as a technician at a ford dealership and this set saved me enough time and effort to correct threads for a motor mount bolt on a 2014 Ford Escape, that was apparently cross threaded by the Assembly Plant. Upon removal of the motor mount fastener, the bolt snapped in half, leaving the rest of it stuck flush inside the body mount. So I had to drill and extract the broken bolt and re-chase the threads. But, you know what they say, you get what you pay for!

  • very good thread chaser

it has the sae fine thread witch is hard to find, the first one i used was a 5/8 on a hard lug wheel stud on a truck, the pieces are good quality and i like the color scheme used to identify the difference between sae, fine, and metric

  • Perfect Repair Tool

This set is high quality and they are designed for REPAIRING existing threads. Regular taps and dies are made to cut new threads in drilled holes or turned rounds But when you want to repair a damaged thread they wont always pick up on the existing threads. These are sized and clearanced to fix damaged threads. I ordered these after having to destroy two metric taps by grinding clearance to repair a damaged thread on an engine block in a near impossible spot to save pulling the engine.

  • Usual great Craftsman quality

I use to clean all threads when working on motorcycle and lawnmower or anything that gets a lot dirt on it before putting back together as well as re threading. Works great
