Overall, this is an excellent product, but I can not give it 5 stars for one reason: the grinding mechanism. It works as advertised, but it is VERY loud. One of the features is a built-in timer. You can load up the coffee maker with the desired amount of water and coffee beans before you go to bed so you can be woken up by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee coming from your kitchen. In reality, you will probably be jolted out of bed by the sound of the grinder long before you ever smell the coffee! If you want to use pre-ground coffee, you can turn the grinding mechanism off with a simple press of a button. On the positive side, it also includes a replaceable charcoal water filter which is good for about 60 pots of coffee. When you start off with the best water possible, this assures a perfect cup of coffee. In conclusion, I have no regrets over the purchase of this product and would recommend it to others.Read full review
I am actually on my second coffee maker of this same style. It does have it's flaws but it was the only coffee maker that I could find that had all of the qualities I wanted. I wanted the built-in grinder and the thermal pot both. There are a lot of parts to clean which is kind of a pain but the flavor of the coffee from this device makes it worth while. You really do need to clean all of the parts with each use or you are asking for trouble. It tends to get pretty dirty if you don't watch out and then (at least with my first one) the grinder started having problems. It got to the point that I had to use a screwdriver to pry it out each time and there were coffee grounds all over the place after I would use it. I tried to replace the grinder with a new one but apparantly the problem was in the machine itself so that didn't solve my problems. Obviously, I loved the coffee maker or I wouldn't have spent the money to buy the exact same one again. (it isn't cheap) I would definately say that is the best one on the market right now (at least for fitting my personal preferences) but hopefully by the time I have to replace this one there will be a better selection to choose from.Read full review
We've had 2 of these coffee makers and we love them. The first one lasted about 10 years and the one we have now is at least 5 years old and going strong. We love that is grinds the beans first then brews the coffee for the freshest tasting coffee ever! No Keurig in our home. We want the most fresh coffee available. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for several hours. The only downside is you need to pour the coffee out slowly so it doesn't spill (not a big deal), and it takes a few minutes to clean (if you clean it after every use it's not difficult). It uses regular size filters so easy to find. We actually found another one at an estate sale and bought it as a backup in case ours bites the dust.

We have two of these coffee makers in white and brew a pot or two a day. We have one for caffeinated and one for decaf. I like the quality of this machine. We have had the first one for 3 years and only had a slight problem with the base part of the grinder. I ordered a new part for little to nothing and it runs like new. With it being white the lid to the coffee maker does stain (to be expected). All parts come out easily and are easy to clean. It comes with a scoop so you don't have to try to figure out how much to measure for beans or ground coffee. On the other end of the scoop is a brush so you can clean or dust out any debris when cleaning. You can program it to brew at whatever time you want. As with any grinder, they are noisy, but only for a few seconds. With the gold filter you do not need a coffee filter although we do use one. The machine does come with a small filter at the bottom of the water reservoir and helps a great deal if you do not already have filtered water. We have a reverse osmosis water filtering system for our drinking water and don't notice a difference in the taste. The coffee comes out good to the last drop! The coffee maker will shut off automatically in case you forget. You can order new water filters through your manual or any parts you may need. It is not recommended to wash any of the items in your dishwasher. Over all this coffee maker has been a dream come true and when you brew a pot in the morning with freshly ground beans the pleasant aroma will wake you up with a smile on your face guaranteed! Over all, I highly recommend this coffee maker. It is made in White, Black and polished stainless steel. I hope I have helped you. SteveRead full review
The coffee maker I bought here on e-bay was a non-working one. I bought it for the carafe as I broke mine for my coffee maker. I already have this model and I love it. It makes great coffee fresh from the beans, or you can just use pre-ground coffee. The only thing I don't like about this coffee maker is the fact that you have to clean the grinder each and every time you use it. I'm used to rinsing the pot out after every pot of coffee and the basket that comes with it (another plus. No more paper filters). But it is a hassle to also have to clean out the grinder after every use. And it is something you have to do. I have tried to use it without cleaning it out. If you use the grinder a second time without cleaning it, it will leave a few beans not ground and it will clog up a little. On the 3rd time without cleaning it you'll have a 1/2 dozen or so beans not ground up and it will clog up alot. Never tried a 4th time. Bottom line is I love my coffee maker and wouldn't trade it for any other even with the extra hassle. I gave it a excellent mark because I believe there isn't a "Perfect" coffee maker out there yet. In my opinion the PERFECT coffee maker will not only measure the water and beans, turn on by itself when I want it to, make it and then bring me a nice hot cup of fresh ground coffee right to my nightstand next to the bed exactly 1 minute before I wake up! That coffee maker I will pay top dollar for!!!Read full review
