Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in VHS Tapes
I have the CED, VHS, DVD and D-VHS (digital theater) versions of this movie. The CED and VHS versions have roughly the same 220 or so lines of resolution. The DVD of course is much better quality at 400. The Digital Theater (D-VHS) VHS at 1080i is the best for sure and was way ahead of it's time, coming out years before Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. Unfortunately, D-VHS never caught on and is now out of production (since 2005). Movies are still available through JVC's Digital Theater website, Amazon, Half, eBay, and other sites as well. Since First Blood came out in the 1980's the film is never going to look as good as many of the new movies that are now out in HD, but First Blood in hi-def 1080i on D-VHS is the best I have seen! I do not have a Sony Blu-Ray machine, but the movie is also out in that format as well. You would have a similar viewing experience watching it in Blu-Ray HD as you would with D-VHS. One last tid-bit for D-VHS fans, Digital Theater machines are backwards compatible so you can also watch your old movies as well!Read full review
