From the people who brought you "Happy Birthday to Me" (also reviewed by me!)comes this less involved murder spree on film. Read the product description for info on plot...I'll say this, lots of gore cut out, and there are absolutely NO extras whatsoever! However, this is a must for any self respecting slasher fan. Well shot, well acted, and well paced...as these films go. Too bad Burman Studios SPFX was cut so ruthlessly by the MPAA! Perhaps Paramount will release a better version someday,...ok, that is asking too much from a studio who constantly release lackluster DVDs in the genre. BUT, at least they are releasing these odd, forgotten gems. That is all we can really ask... One of the only slash ficks that is obviously set up for a sequel that never happened. You can normally find this title for around $7...Grade: B+ -JonnieRead full review
This film's screenplay is far superior to the "loose remake" of 2009. The story flows and is pure, frightful fun. 2009's screenplay is convoluted and silly. The ONLY good from the 2009 version is, in fact, the 3D. The con of the 1981 film is it is dated, in some parts. Excluding that, which may be nostalgic to some, this film has no negatives. You'll enjoy this pure 80s fun directed by George Mihalka and written by John Beaird, the orginal story is billed to Stephen A. Miller. The 'killer' in this film is far more intriguing than any to come out of Hollywood. The abysmal coal mine becomes a character in-and-of itself. I'll not enter any plot information, as to prevent spoilage. Suffice to say that if you enjoy[ed] "Halloween" or "Friday The 13th (1980)", you'll enjoy this film a little more.Read full review
MY BLOODY VALENTINE IS ANOTHER 1980'S SLASHER MOVIE MADE THROUGH PARAMOUNT PICTURES (FRIDAY THE 13TH) DURING AN ERA WHEN THESE MOVIES WERE APPRECIATED. NOW LOST AMONGST CULT COLLECTERS, IT OFFER GREAT INSIGHT INTO WHAT GOOD HORROR MOVIES USED TO BE. FRESH STORYLINE AND A DESCENT SCRIPT MAKE FOR THE MOST PART OF A GOOD MOVIE. THE ACTING COULD BE MUCH BETTER (EVEN FOR A CHEAP HORROR MOVIE) BUT THE BLOOD AND ORIGINAL KILL SEQUENCES MAKE UP FOR IT. DEFINITELY WORTH WATCHING LATE AT NIGHT AND A MUST OWN FOR YOUR COLLECTION IF YOU ARE A HORROR FAN.
My son loves this movie thanks so much for getting it here on time.ππΌ
