It sounds fine but the snare wire release lever is messed up. You have to push it underneath to get it to engage and it still slips. Had to jury rig it with string to keep it in place. I realize it was cheap but I really think the seller should have mentioned this defect. Good thing is it's mostly for practice as I rarely gig out anymore but I think it's good policy to mention defects in the description. I certainly try to although I sometimes aren't aware of them myself .
