ns-dvdr1 not 2 shabby, Region free code, anyone know ?
I bought this new in 2006. Its cool if you like to download divx movies you can fast forward and rewind many different formats. I found that recording in DVD+RW format I could share the dvds with friends (these played in a sony, a philips, and a gpx), but when I finalized the discs I could only play them in the insignia nsdvdr1. The same with DVD+R discs, they seem to auto finalize. ALso you can only record HBO on DVD-r or DVD-rw, These will only play on the insignia. My home computer will not recognize the disc at all. The cooling fan gets loud sometimes but it can be replaced easily. It works flawlessly 90% of the time but sometimes it does lock up. Where I have to plug and unplug it to find I've only recorded half of a show. It does suit my needs for a cheap dvd recorder and multi ... I bought this new in 2006. There might be a region free code for this. Something like: 1) Remove disk (if any) from the player 2) Turn the player off 3) Turn the player on 4) Open tray 5) On remote press 9-7-3-5 6) A box should appear on the screen with a region number inside (1 for players sold in USA) 7) Use Up and Down arrow keys on the remote to select desired region (0 means region free) 8) Press Enter on the remote. Tray should close. 9) Enjoy Might work for other insignias too. Also I record in 4 hour mode alot it produces an acceptable picture. Is this enough info :)?

Sometimes it helps to read the instructions.
This was the easiest to set up VDR, I have ever set up. This #4 in my house now. The one problem I ran into was eraseracing the RW disc. I finally found the solution in instructions (yes it had the instruction book, didn't need to scroll down online) I did it once and forgot the next time. Finally remembered had to push the menu list on the remote control then I could erase the chapter. The feature I like the best is I can hear the TV while programming. I really didnt mean to write review 3 months after i got it but time flies when you work and go to school lol. It took some time for the product to arrive. But after I received the DVD Recorder it worked right out of the box with little setup (just setting the clock and recording speed). I was going to give this a good for the amount of time it took to get to my house, but I was so impressed by the recorder itself that I am giving it an excellent.I really didnt mean to write review 3 months after i got it but time flies when you work and go to school lol.
