I decided to purchase this book because I have purchased books by Marianne Hobermann in the past. I think they are great! They use rhyming language which kids really like. The stories are interesting. The series of reading with a youngster where each of you reads a few line separately and then some line together is a great way to involve young readers!
I absolutely adore this book! It's a fresh new look at the classic fairy tales with wonderful, rhythmic rhyme and delightful characterizations! It's a great way to share reading withe your children, grandchildren, or students! I personally used it for all 3.

This book is a spin-off on "traditional" fairy tales. The illustrations are funny. My first grader loves being able to read a short blurb and then being read to. Reads easy. We will buy another book in this series.
