Shipping method (to Canada) very odd though - was first sent east right across the continent to Chicago - then North to Canada - then sent right across the continent again to the west. Could have just been sent fairly straight up north to my area and would have taken half the time.

I absolutely agree with you. It is crazy! BUT, it would have been much more expensive to send it directly to you. Ebay has sellers send all foreign packages to their "International Center" for processing. So that is why the long haul takes place. It's all about saving money...they say.
