Very easy installation but you must purchase a 50 Amp double pole (240v) C/B that fits your panel. This new C/B should be located at the very top or bottom two slots of your panel, depending on which location your service enters the panel. This new breaker cannot be used to power any other source. Hence you will most likely have to relocate two existing C/B’s elsewhere. The instructions are fair in that they don’t really explain , very well that you should twist and knot the wires coming from the unit before attaching to the C/B. Also, I found that the gauge of the stranded cables were too thin to be attached solidly to the 50 Amp breaker, as that size breaker would normally have a thicker 6 gauge wire attached to it. The thin surge protector wire easily slid out. So I attached, with a wire nut, a short, maybe 6” piece of 12 gauge solid core wire to the wires (black and red) going to C/B. No need to do that for the common (white) or the equipment ground (green) wires.Read full review

This seems like an excellent product. I have yet to experience an outage after installation so it has yet to prove its effectiveness. Seems to be a well designed product. Installation was very easy and I was actually able to install the unit inside the breaker switch cabinet and have a clear view of the unit by simply opening the cabinet door. ALWAYS SHUT OFF POWER TO ENTIRE HOUSE AT MAIN SWITCH DURING INSTALLATION. Need to purchase a two pole 50 ampere breaker for installation. This breaker is specific to your panel. That is if the panel is GE, you must buy a GE breaker. If Eaton, Eaton, etc. You may need to relocate existing breakers to accommodate the new breaker. Professional install advised if you are not adept at this sort of DIY jobs.

This is a good value in surge protection. Highly rated on several websites and has strong surge capabilities. Requies a 50 amp double pole breaker if installed in your service panel. Mine fit at the bottom of the panel. If not electrically inclined may want to leave the installation to a qualified electrician.

If it works as advertised, I will be happy. Power surges are unpredictable. Just have evaluate when a surge occurs.

The hook up was simple, though the wires should be longer. Note: I wouldn't recommend mounting this unit to an existing panel thats inside a finished wall.

My only complaint is that the leads were too short and had to be extended to reach the ground/neutral bar in the breaker panel. Other than that it appears to be working fine.
