Idiotic Design
These things are way bigger than their counterparts with no pass-through plugs. So big, in fact, that they cover the 2nd plug on any standard US wall outlet, rendering them completely useless. If you buy these over the pair with no plug, it is likely because you really need access to both wall outlets where this plug will be located. But when you plug one of these in you still end up with just 1 usable outlet, because it will cover the second one. If they had just designed this thing to be slightly taller and have less overhang near the bottom, there would be absolutely no issue. Completely idiotic.
