    definitely buy one!

I now have three of these so one is always in reach and others I leave clamped to a guitar. they work great, the battery lasts a long time, easy to read, way more convenient than having to use my old Korg with a cable, (although the Korg has been a workhorse for thirty some years...still use it for setting intonation). I also have a F#%der clamp on, it works well too, but I prefer the features on the Snarks. we've come a long way from using tuning forks and harmonics, now we wonder how we ever got along without these things. if you're hesitating, don"t! just get one (or three)....

    Accurate but...

This is a dependable and accurate tuner but could be designed different or made better. This is my third one because it breaks too easy at the pivot base (happened twice). This could possibly be my last snark tuner...

  • It's easy, ready and accurate tuning even in bright sun.

I am a luthier who uses snarks to do virtually all tuning related work on a stringed instrument, especially settling intonation. Bases are more difficult but if you do a twelfth fret harmonic bases are tuned perfectly. You need to do that to set intonation too. I've tuned harps, autoharps, dulcimers, hammered dulcimers, fiddles, violas, cellos, bases, guitars (6 & 12 string), mandolins and Ukuleles. I have tuned them with the tuner attached to the guitar stand and not on the guitar (try that - it'll blow you away). These were on sale so I snagged them up. Also for outside gigs it is bright enough to read.

  • Couldn't be better

If you want a guitar tuner that is both accurate and easy to use, look no farther. Some of these tuners can't seem to make up their minds whether or not a string is really in tune. Not so the Snark. It will let you know right away if the string is sharp, flat, or just right. It works well on either acoustic or electric guitars. I'm just sorry I did not buy a Snark a lot sooner.

  • big, clear display

Hi. I've owned 4 different tuners which I use to tune my acoustic and electric guitars. They all similar operate by the same principal. I even have an older model of the SNARK tuner I bought more than a year ago and I still use it. However, this current (new) model is easier to use. When I tune the string to and E or G# or whatever I wish, the display shows much more clearly that the string is tuned to just the right tension. More specifically, the line in the center that indicates you've got that note spot-on is much thicker than the older Snark model, and the competition. It's just easier to read and makes tuning that much quicker which means less battery used. I expect I'll get more tuning from a fresh CR-2032 battery on this new model of the SNARK tuner. Buy one.
