Pump Replacement
I used this replacement pump on an Ex-Cell VR2500 power washer that had a cracked pump from not being drained for winter. This has a 6.75 hp Briggs and Stratton engine. Bolt line up was fine but I did put one flat washer between the pump legs and the engine for clearance to make sure the pump didn’t touch the engine. The hardest part of this job for me was removing two broken bolts in the engine that snapped removing the old pump. When I put stuff back together I always put anti-seize lube on threads that I think there is a chance will have to take apart in the future, especially on bi similar metals. Watch when ordering pump on the orientation of the fittings, are they the same as the spark plug or opposite, that’s the key. Didn’t give 5 stars because time will tell how the pump holds up. ... Made old pressure like new
I have an older Excell Devilbiss model VR2500 pressure washer with the old style pump. I do not use it a lot and last time I tried to use it it failed. Could not find parts for it but did find this replacement pump. I ordered the pump and a new shaft key which was needed as the old collar key would not fit. Note that there are two pumps that look alike with the difference being the placement of the three attachment arms. Same part number but one has an additional suffix code, so be sure you get the correct one. To take the old one off I had a hard time getting the allen screw off of the motor shaft. I ended up using an impact wrench to remove the center bolt that goes into the motor shaft collar, then the four bolts that holds the pump on, and the pump is removed. Now I could get to the ... Next, I removed the three bolts that holds the motor on the platform as this is where the new pump attaches. By test fitting the pump I found out I would need spacers/shims as the motor shaft bottomed out in the pump. So off to the hardware store for spacers and longer bolts (current bolt size plus the spacer size plus the thickness of the pump. Sliding the pump on the shaft and getting the shaft key aligned took a few tries then it was easy to bolt the pump on. My old motor slowed way down when I sprayed. Not having a pressure gauge, I just took a turn out of the unloader valve and it ran much better. Now it sprays like new.

This pump works great. It is of a different design than the original on my Excell pressure washer, so some of the plastic on the bottom gets discarded, but who cares? I had to buy the woodruff key separately and make a trip to the hardware store for three bolts once I determined the length I needed. It was easy to swap and the price was great. For about $85 total, I have a pressure washer that works like new. And to think I almost threw it away!This pump works great. was easy to replace the old one. 3 hex head bolts and your off and align the keyway and put new one on attach the 3 hex head bolts and your done. Hook up the water hose and fire it up. Your pressure washers is all set.

This pump was the exact replacement of the old pump that came off my Troy bilt 2800psi 2.3gpm pressure was. The only thing that was different is the screw on inlet and outlet extension adapters were about 1" shorter then the ones that came with my original pressure was pump. I left the new extension on that came with this pump and kept my original extensions as a spare and throw away my broken pump.
