    Nikon Coolpix A900

I love this camera. I’ve had several Nikon cameras, going way back to my first 3.1 MP!! Remember that long ago? Each has gotten better. I’ve had a Coolpix S8100, then a couple of S9100s (bought a 2nd when I needed to send my first in for repair). Thought they were great until I got this one. The color I see on the display is much better and more accurate as to what I see on my computer. I love the display screen that tilts away from the body to allow you to see from a variety of angles. I highly recommend this camera for a mid-level photographer and up. I’m not a professional by any stretch of the imagination, this camera is smarter than me It has manual settings that if I were a better photographer I could use and hope to someday learn. For now I’m quite happy using the automatic settings.

Not as good as it should be

This is an average point and shoot. I am a Nikon fan, but I am disappointed with the limited menu on this camera. While it has a manual operation there is no manual focus. It also lacks IOS control. Which is valuable option in low light and high speed shooting. I have had several point and shoot cameras which were less expensive and had more controls. I had a S3500 which was a far less expensive unit and had far better controls. I did a lot of research before I purchased this camera and there was not enough data available on operation of the unit.

  • Excellent value!

The Nikon COOLPIX A900 is a great camera for someone on the go. It’s small enough to fit in one’s pocket yet hefty enough to hold reasonably still without a tripod. The 35x optical zoom is fantastic for getting that shot when you can’t get very close to the action. I’ve also found the autofocus to be fast and easy to use. One of my favorite features is Full HD video in 60fps. Playback is exceptionally smooth, and the speed of the footage can be reduced to 1/2 for slow motion with virtually no choppiness. While this camera is lacks many of the features of a professional grade model, such as a large sensor, many dedicated external buttons, and manual focus capabilities, it still packs a lot of punch an is a great product for a photography hobbyist such as myself. I did my research prior to purchase and found the A900 to be outstanding in its feature set. I’m very happy with the Nikon A900, and I highly recommend it!

  • For the price you can't beat it

I bought it to take photo's that were more art like. The pics are more of a point and shoot. The technology is phenomanal with the NFC and WIFI features. It fits in your pocket and I wish the zoom didn't auto come out. The flash is great, I took a photo in the dark and it came out perfect like it wasn't dark.

  • Prefect, great size

I love the flip screen. The app to take pictures or send pictures straight to your phone as you take them is great. Zoom is pretty good but kinda grainy if you zoom too much. So far the video is pretty good! Ready to take it to Disney to see how well it works in high noise areas.

  • Great ultra-zoom camera

Camera is outstanding. I use it for wildlife photos while hiking, and it works perfectly without being huge and bulky. It is a little heavy in a shirt pocket, but the zoom capability for it's size is excellent. The ability to tilt the screen allows me to hold the camera lower while shooting, which is more stable for ultra-zoom shots. Ideal camera for me.

  • One of the best compact camera i ever had

I have another camera like this, I really liked the quality of the photos and also its video capability, I was afraid that the camera would disappear from the market so I decided to buy another one to ensure that I would have one for several more years. I like most of the nikon coolpixs i used befor

  • Nikon Coolpix A900

Accurate focus, sharp well exposed images. Excellent color rendition. Image adjustments can make photos “pop.” Sensitive shutter release requires half-press to focus, then full-press to take the shot. Don’t mash the shutter release. Feels well made and durable. Should be a good travel and walk-around camera.

  • BEST POCKET CAM I'VE OWNED

I love the A900. I've been a photojournalist since 1967. Used Leicas, Pentax, Minolta and Nikon gear. This little camera, which I bought primarily to have a video camera available all the time, does a really good job of trying to match my Nikon D300. It's not a PRO camera but it is one of the best little back-up, easy to keep w/ you all the time cameras I've had. The lens is typically slow so it it isn't great for low light use, especially at telephoto settings. Indoor shots are easy unless it's a dark bar. The settings can be done automatically and the camera is quite good at it. There are also manual settings for almost any variation you might want to make. Excellent little camera and the refurbished ones are a bargain price. The attached photos were all done w/ the A900.
