    Rudolph Schlechter on New Guinea orchids

    Schlechter's early 20th century book on New Guinea was in German and hard to get. This translation into English made it accessible. As well as the detailed description of orchids it provides insight into the very early days of botany and exploration on the tropical north coast of the island. Highly recommended.
