    A Legendary Radio Lives Up To Its Reputation.

    This is a revised version of my original review of the PL-310et. I returned the first one to Nevada Radio as it was 'deaf' on shortwave and eventually, purchased a replacement from hlhl2014. The radio was promptly delivered. This model has amazing AM reception with relatively distant, low powered, stations like Spirit Radio 549khz in Ireland being received at my location on the east coast of Scotland. FM is great too. Longwave was fair. This radio has been highly praised for its shortwave sensitivity. This example lived up to such praise. Using only its telescopic antenna, I was able to hear stations from China, DPRK, Botswana and Thailand amongst other countries. This radio is a magnet for shortwave stations and gives the similar XHDATA D 808, a good run for its money. At around £38, its ...

    For use as a travel radio, it's ideal. If you want a radio that covers these bands for home use, spend a bit more,,,

    I have a Sony 7600G, some 30 years old, which is good, but quite heavy and large. But very good in it's day. I bought the Tecsun for holiday use, being lighter & smaller. My comparison between the two is:- VHF - both very good, and much better on headphones for music. MW - both very similar. Sony has better audio quality through its speaker. The Tecsun's bandwidth function worked well. LW - Little to choose between them, both a bit 'deaf' here. SW - Both quite similar, but the Sony's audio was better SSB - Sony has this facility, but the Tecsun doesn't. When I want to use to amateur bands I use my HF transceiver. Both radios have their strengths & weaknesses. For travel, the Tecsun does fine, which is what it is designed for.

    Wonderful quality compact receiver

    This is a wonderful small receiver. With extended ariel on short wave i am getting staions all over the globe. The scan and save function is excellent for storing stations and saves twiddling the dial. Each click is next station. The stereo fm reception from headphone socket is near hi fi quality and can be fed into auxiliary input to a sound system. For £38 i give it top marks. Bill

    Good but not great

    Nice little radio but no way near worth £38. Nothing special performance or features wise (see Retekess V115) but SW shows potential. Mine has annoying minor abrasion on the INSIDE of the acrylic screen so watch makers polish no good. Thermometer is pointless and inaccurate.
