Packaging I would have to give 2 stars, as the box was torn in many places and tape on the bottom of was torn away from box leaving one flap not secured by tape. Nicely bubble wrapped, Unit was a little dirty but nothing a little alcohol and pledge electronics cleaner couldn't fix. The unit as described work beautifully.     Samsung UBD-K8500

    This is a really nice player that's easy to use and beats the upscaling image quality of my previous BD player. I don't do 3D and don't have 4KUHD TV, so I can't give it that 5th star for those features. I have heard it does very well on the UHD material.

    Being newer and with actual external but...

    Being newer and with actual external buttons, I was excited to try it out. At first it didn't there was no signal to the TV, only when I would move the big, heavy HDMI cable a little up, down, etc.. where it plugged into the Blu Ray. Was the socket in back too loose? I used a different cable and it worked fine. Watched a move no problem. It's a little scratchy on top, but no one sees it since in a cabinet. Cool, now we can finally watch DVD's & Blue-Ray again!

    Great UHD Player

    Very good quality UHD player. Better get a couple and throw them in the top of the closet if you are into physical media. Has most of the bells and whistles and will definitely do the job.

    Samsung 4k player is very good.

    Plays 4k movies and all other formats very well. It also has a digital optical audio output which is becoming difficult to find.
