    Great Ultra HD disc player!

    I was lucky enough to pick up this great, high end, 4k disc player, for a small fraction of what it was when it sold new, a couple of years ago! Fortunately, the previous owner took excellent care of it and hardly used it. This player does an outstanding job of having simple operation but is loaded with tons of high-end features, if you are feeling brave enough to adjust the more complicated settings. I bought this to replace an older Bluray that died. I wouldn’t have bothered, except I have a rather large collection of Bluray and DVD discs. One of the best features of this player is that it upscales other discs to near 4k quality. It does that very well, especially with newer Blurays! It also plays all regions. I recommend this player highly.

    Panasonic UB420: Small unit, big performance

    Pros: - Good picture quality out of the box - Good sound quality in both movies and music - Supports gapless music playback - Small footprint - Good level of manual control Cons: - Sparse output options - Complications can arise with older receivers - Not the fastest to load discs - Does not support WMV format The UB420 is a very capable 4K player. It gives me decent control over image parameters if needed, but with my TV set to "Movie" mode my 4K movies already look good on default settings. The only hiccup was that the UB420 refused to pass the 4K feed through my older Pioneer receiver, so I had to output 4K directly to my TV and use the UB420's optical out to send audio to the receiver. My external hard drive worked fine when plugged into the USB port. MP4 and MKV files played fine, ...

    I have been buying Panasonic products for years and they have never disappointed. It is easy to use and it hooked up well to my receiver. It does have HDCP and will need a splitter if you are connecting to older tvs.

    Lightweight, but great features

    I was surprised when I received it, that this DVD player was built very light, but despite that it seems to perform very well, and I have no complaints with it so far. Hopefully it will hold up well in the long run despite it's light build.

    Better than expected

    I was initially skeptical if the blu ray player would work since it came with no second box and only one of those Amazon airbag things for packaging, but it arrived in one piece with no damage and works just fine. Overall a good experience
