Name fits - Bergerac was the central character.
This as a series starring John Nettles when he was a young man - detective before Midsomer Murders and had both serious and comedy aspects. There's more than we got on public TV and I'm just sorry it was never produced for US code so it is difficult to watch since most DVD players in the US won't run it. I'm thankful for computers so I can get by that problem. This is another program that explored some of what the English suffered and survived during WW II and how they managed, told with humor, romance, detective work by a less than perfect cop played with the deft touch we've come to know from the always great John Nettles. Worth the trouble of getting by outdated recording technology. The whole series should be shown again on TV. Much better than most of what is on today.

The disc's were sent from Florida, yet they were for region 2 CD players only (UK and a couple of other places) not USA, which is region 1. This wasn't disclosed. I had to purchase a new international CD player in order to play them.

I love Bergerac
I enjoyed Midsomers Murders and this one is a good intro. Stories are short and engaging. Good BBC stuff! I love it!
