It contains more than 800 color, and black and white photographs and is supplemented with uniform illustrations. Great railroad painting of the CZ Observation car by a great artist, Don Feight! This Giclee Print is of the highest quality and arrived without damage. Couldn't resist it when I saw it offered, and cannot wait to get this mounted, framed and hung. Seller bundled shipping to save me some money. Communication with the seller (airplanesandmore) was great. Would recommend this seller 100% as well as the painter. Look for Feight's other work on this seller's ebay site.

  • A splendid book, a godsend for collectors and military historians.

Schiffer does a first-rate job of publishing reference books and Warren Carroll had the good fortune to secure that firm as his publisher. This is a splendid book, replete with beautiful color plates that illustrate the Air Force wings and related insignia of Great Britain and her Commonwealth Country allies up to and including WWII. Carroll does a fine job explaining the chronology of wing development and he covers the somewhat esoteric areas of non-approved awards that add a bit of dash to an already colorful and proud history. He includes the wings and history of non-combatant groups who provided vital service to the war effort and it's hard to imagine that he missed anything of importance in the overall picture of pilot and air crew insignia of the two world wars. My only complaint ...

  • Exactly what you would expect!

Wonderful book, well put together by a collector and historian. Has many quality color photos of original Commonwealth and British Observer and Pilot Wings. I found it to be incredibly useful and well written. A must have for any collector to sort out a genuine form a reproduction.
