Capture an important part of American farming history with this die-cast tractor manufactured by ERTL in 1:8 scale. These high-quality Waterloo Boy toy tractors were authorized by John Deere to commemorate the company as part of their vintage toys collection. This item is recommended for children ages eight or older. Classic gasoline engines are a celebrated aspect of agricultural history in the United States, and the Waterloo Boy engine is a nostalgic piece of Americana. Although the original was built at the turn of the twentieth century, this highly detailed Waterloo Boy replica was manufactured in 1991. This Waterloo Boy toy is 8 inches long, not including the tow steering handle. The model is 4.75 inches high and 4.25 inches wide. Most of the toy is made of die-cast metal, which makes it a very sturdy toy for a child to play with as well as a beautiful display piece. Some of the small detail parts are made of plastic. This model is representative of a two-cylinder gas tractor used by American farmers. All the parts of this Waterloo Boy product are crafted with careful attention to detail. The toy has a bed that is a light tan color. The bed is flat with the equipment attached to the top. It has four equal-sized tractor wheels which are attached to the bed by red struts. These die-cast metal wheels are connected to the struts with axles and can spin. The wheels and tow steering bar are black, and the main body of the product is a bright fire-engine red. The name, Waterloo Boy, is written in gold foil on a stack at the front of the toy. Another interesting feature that can also be found on this part of the toy is a round part that protrudes over the bed of the tractor. There is a silver protrusion beside the stack where Waterloo Boy is written. At the bottom of the stack are areas that show modeled engine parts. Two large flywheels are in the center of the Waterloo Boy toy, and these wheels can spin. You can see black pieces behind the flywheels that help them to be able to move, adding to the excitement and fun. Between the flywheels and the place the tow bar is attached is a gray tank, just like the real original tractor it is modeled after. The tow bar is attached to part of the brown base that forms a small column or seat at the back of this model. The box of this toy is well suited to displaying this item beautifully. It would look great placed on a shelf in a kitchen with a farmhouse theme. You can use this toy to learn about the history of farm tractors. It shows how much the tractor has advanced since this item was produced. This toy is so well detailed that you can learn about mechanics by studying this Waterloo Boy.
