I have the Frankford Arsenal wet tumbler for cleaning my brass and I separated the metal media one time from the brass using a colander. That was the only time. I immediately purchased their media separator and it worked perfectly without any mess. This is a must if you are using the wet tumbler with the steel cleaning media.

First time I used it,the flimsy under designed basket tab broke, the rubber strap attaches to it to hold the spin basket closed. The rubber material is to stiff also. The basket is also distorted and does not close fully. The whole assembly is Chinese cheap. Contacted Frankford twice by email and have heard nothing.

I use it with a brass tumbler that has the stainless pins as media. I’m able to recover most of the pins in the bottom part of the case and use a magnet to recover it.

Having one of these media separators is a real time saver. My experience is with a wet system with stainless pins. Most of the pins can be shaken out of the brass using the separator, and the last few by shaking the brass in a large towel, then using the Frankford Transfer Magnet. Overall, a very good purchase.

I have been separating media from cases by hand up until I received this. I used this the first time separating several hundred .223 cases from the walnut shell media I normally use. I was absolutely amazed how quickly and thoroughly it did the job! The second time I used it I did about 100 .223 cases that I wet tumbled with Stainless steel pins. Again it did the job very quickly and with little effort. I should have purchased this ages ago!
