It works nicely. The wire naturally comes in a coil. It's not likely you can get the twists and kinks out when you're up on the roof. It won't lay flat or hold position where the wire insists on twisting. Snow creeping down the incline might pull it straight. So might the heat of the sun and the heat of the wire. It's probably not major. Try hard to estimate the right length. It could cover a whole lot less distance than you guessed. Then you were up there...risking your life on the slippery slooping roof...and you didn't even get the whole job done.
