Surge Protection
I had a problem where the 2 Evinrude 9.9 outboards stopped running at the same time. This happened twice. The second time I was unable to start one of them which it transpired was a faulty CDI. As the only thing the motors have in common is a battery my conclusion was that a voltage surge had come through the system and upset the CDI’s. The system has solar panels connected. I have used the boat once since installing the surge protection and everything is fine. If the surge protector’s do what they are supposed to do then they are a fantastic addition to the system.
