  • Worth the purchase price

    Over the last 15 years I've listened to quite a bit of music from the Brits. It's difficult for me to be objective about most of it (admittedly I like Oasis even after "What's the Story..." so clearly I'm not always the most discerning of listeners), but about Blur I've always been mixed. I love "Parklife", but could never break into their self-titled. When I bought "Think Tank", it was piggy-backed with another purchase, Ashcroft's "Alone with Everybody". (If you can get another disc cheap, why not?) Truth be told, Graham Coxon's absence didn't inspire me to listen to "Think Tank" much at all. I regret not listening to it right off. It's a terrific disc, the best combination of experimental music with the pop sensibilities the band has always had. After repeated spins, I've grown ...

  • We've Got A File On You

    If I didn't know better I would think Blur was listening to a lot of Michael Knott and Mike Roe albums while making this one. But I highly doubt they're fans of alternative Christian music. I'll settle with they must have been listening to a lot of Elvis Costello. While no tracks jump out, every song is good and it's a very enjoyable CD. 4 Stars.
